The series follows Chizuko Date, a seemingly indifferent junior high girl living in Niigata Prefecture who becomes obsessed with the local magical‑girl hero, Berry Blossom, who protects the city. However, the ongoing battles between Berry Blossom and her inept nemesis Chroma have grown dull and uninspiring.
