Beloved Italian actress Valeria Golino has starred in both English-language movies and Italian movies throughout her career. She starred in “Rain Man” (1988) opposite Tom Cruise, in the comedy sequel “Big Top Pee-wee” (1988), and in the Sean Penn movie “The Indian Runner” (1991). While living in Los Angeles, she also appeared in the films “Leaving Las Vegas” (1995) and “Escape from L.A.” (1996), directed by John Carpenter. Golino returned to Italy in 2000 and began appearing in a wider variety of movies, including “Frida” (2002), the French crime drama “36, Quai des Orfevres” (2004), and “Actrices,” directed by Valeria Bruni Tadeschi.
